Streets in Motion: Introducing Mr and Mrs Film — Weekly 8mm Shorts — and Paralyzed Issue 4
We’re excited to share a double dose of news from the streets: a brand-new YouTube channel and the release of Issue 4 of our monthly digital eZine, Paralyzed.
Mr and Mrs Film — our new YouTube home We’ve launched Mr and Mrs Film, a channel dedicated to the quiet, grainy magic of 8mm. Each week we post short films captured on our photography walks: candid, intimate moments that happen between the still frames. These are not polished cinematic productions but honest slices of street life — people, light, motion, and the textures of the city rendered in warm, analog flicker. The films are shot on the iPhone, hand-in-hand with our street photography practice; sometimes a frame from a walk becomes a still image for a series, sometimes the motion becomes the story. Either way, the channel is a new way to experience the streets we love, in motion and in texture.
Watch and read — Films on the website If you prefer to stay on the site, we’ve built a new Films page that hosts every weekly release. The Films page groups the 8mm shorts alongside the occasional behind-the-scenes peek into how the walks came together. This makes it easy to watch a film and connect with the still photography that often inspired it. Expect a steady cadence: a new 8mm short every week, available on YouTube and mirrored on our Films page.
Paralyzed Issue 4 — street photography, settings, and features Issue 4 of Paralyzed is out soon. Our monthly digital eZine continues to be a compact, sharp snapshot of contemporary street photography and this issue is one of our strongest yet. Inside you’ll find Street Photography of the Month selections — images chosen for their composition and spirit — accompanied by the camera settings we used. We know many readers appreciate the nitty-gritty (lens, aperture, shutter, ISO) so we include those details to help you learn what went into each shot.
Featured bio: Todd Hido This issue also includes a concise bio of Todd Hido, one of the photographers whose work has influenced how many of us think about light and narrative in urban settings. We trace his path from early projects to his present approach, highlighting how atmosphere, suburban edges, and a cinematic eye can inform street-based practices even when his work often crosses into portraiture and landscape.
